Seussville University -- A Random House Dr. Seuss site that is targeted toward K-2 skills in reading, reasoning, math, and science.  http://www.seussville.com/

Starfall -- This site is targeted toward K-2 skills in reading. Excellent site used primarily in kindergarten to practice sound recognition and develop reading.  http://www.starfall.com/

Time for Kids Classroom -- TFK Classroom is a free K - 8 classroom connection for teachers and students.  It includes current events updates, a reproducible library, quizzes, and activities. http://www.timeforkids.com/TFK.class0,17446,,00.html

Enchanted Learning -- At the Enchanted Learning site, you will find fun, colorful pages on a wide variety of topics, for example, dinosaurs, astronomy, geography, and art appreciation.  Mainly for K - 8, but there's lots of information here that anyone could use, such as the foreign language picture dictionaries. http://www.enchantedlearning.com

Brain Food! Give your mind a work out on some of these devious puzzles! There are hundreds, ranging from word games to logic problems to riddles.  Some are tricky. Some require innovation.  All require thinking power. http://www.rinkworks.com/brainfood/

Scholastic Magazine -- This is an excellent online news magazine for children, approximately grades 3 - 8.  The main story is usually a single page and has two or three critical thinking questions for the students to answer after they have read the article. http://teacher.scholastic.com/scholasticnews/index.asp

How Stuff Works -- Discusses interesting topics on every subject just like the title says. http://www.howstuffworks.com/

National Library of Virtual Manipulatives for Interactive Math -- This site for all grade levels (pre K - 12) is quite amazing.  It has a graphical representations of most manipulatives used in the math curriculum, and it lets students move them and work with them via the computer mouse. http://nlvm.usu.edu/en/nav/

Education 4 Kids – This site allows you to describe the type of flashcards you want in your drill, and then you click to begin the drill. http://edu4kids.com/math/math.php

Teach R Kids – site provides practice in basic math skills.  Worksheets can be completed and scored online, or printed.  This is practice for K – 3, with anything above that considered advanced. http://www.teachrkids.com

Prongo – This site provides a variety of games for ages 3 – 12.  The games teach math skills and thinking skills.  The games for young ages are good for developing basic skills for using a mouse. http://www.prongo.com/games

AplusMath -- This web site was developed to help students improve their math skills interactively.   There are games, flashcards and a homework helper. http://www.aplusmath.com
